 | Perez Named Top A Hurler
Monday, August 1st, 2011: Over the past month Martin Perez has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Single-A. He proved all that and now he's been named July's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Eugene Gargoyles posted 4-0 mark and a 1.42 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 44.1 innings, permitted 31 hits and fanned 34 batters.
Presently Perez has a 6-9 mark in 21 starts with a 3.24 ERA. He has given up 122 hits in 133.1 innings, struck out 126 and issued 55 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .238 batting average against him. |

Monday, August 1st, 2011: For a rookie just breaking in, Reymond Fuentes certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the A Batter of the Month award for July.
The 20-year-old center fielder for the Manhattan Bearcats hit .400 with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
Posting a .281 batting average to date, Fuentes has 8 home runs and 43 RBIs. |
